Munich - What's fascinating about the city? What do you love about your neighbourhood?
Well, aside the Italian food, which is some of the best in the world, I would have to say how beautiful Munich is. You can just walk out the door and there is creative inspiration. Also, since Munich is so close to other parts of Europe if you need to get inspiration from somewhere else that is also easy to do for a couple of days as well. We also travel a lot so living in Munich is easy to fly in and out of.
Creativity – Was does creativity mean to you?
I look at creativity as a domesticated madness. It is the ability to tap into that childlike wonder and connect dots that other people have not allowed their thoughts to go. I think we focus way too much on needing to see or touch something for it to be fact. I think thoughts and ideas change your mind state just as much as seeing or knowing something can.
Inspiration – Who or what inspires you?
People who have created something from nothing or overcome massive adversary to achieve their goals. My personal motivation is to help more people design a life that gives them personal and business satisfaction.
New technologies – Which technologies fascinate you? Which technologies scare you?
There is not really any tech that scares me; the people behind the tech is what scares me. I am most excited for Virtual Reality due to the fact that it will allow people to genuinely be empathetic for other people's situations or environments due to the fact that they will actually be able to walk in their shoes.
Future – What is the biggest challenge for you?
My two biggest challenges at the moment are:
1. My biggest challenge is learning German so I can be more effective in Germany.
2. Bringing new ideas to big businesses and trying to cut through all the systems and processes within a conservative environment.
Vision – What is yours?
My overall vision is simple. To help people and businesses think, feel and excite more creatively every single day.
Creative Class – Is it the key to innovation?
I think that is a tough question. In the wrong hands, change brought on by creativity can be just as destructive as no change at all. Ideas and creativity mean nothing if you do nothing with it. So to answer the question, I think it is the key to innovation but only if you have the means to execute the creativity.
Munich Members – What are your expectations from the network and projects?
I love the network of people and open-minded businesses that are willing to integrate creative thinking and planning it into their business.
